Nicholas V. Farinacci
Graphic Designer / Web Designer / Artist / Creative
Hey Guys,
A little bit about me : Graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Graphic / Web Design. I like to dabble into a little bit of everything ranging from UI app design, to branding or photo manipulation and illustration. I love logo design. Probably one of my more favorable areas to work in. Another passion of mine is photography, allowing me to capture a beautiful moment or take a picture to manipulate in some creative way. Creativity is endless and using it to make what you want is the fun part. I want to share a short story that will give you some insight about how I think as a designer and something that I believe in down to my core. I had a friend tell me that somebody we knew did not like any of my designs and thought they weren't very good. He went on talking about how some designs were too simple, or too basic and not enough there. He negatively put down every single piece I had in my portfolio. Now, I understand that everyone has a right to their own opinion and as a designer you have to be able to accept how other people view your work both negatively and positively. But what I told my friend in response to this "negative nancy" was: As a designer, you aren't creating work that you personally like for yourself. You are creating designs that the client likes. I have done plenty of projects where I cannot stand the look of the completed project and don't understand why the client wanted it to look a certain way. But the client is always right. My portfolio is filled with different designs not to my liking, but to the liking of the person, client, or company I did it for. I always tell myself to keep an open mind to everything. There is never one aspect to design. There are multiple aspects; dealing with the client, dealing with the constant changes, dealing with so much more than just colors and shapes and the way something rolls off the tongue. I look at a project from all angles. You have to or else you will never be happy with the end product. That's one reason I love being a graphic designer, it takes so much more than making something look good on paper. It's the overall experience that you go through in order to complete that project. That is how I learn something new each time I design a project. Anyways.... Go ahead and check out my portfolio section and click the links below for social media profiles! Also, check out my Upwork profile (https://www.upwork.com/fl/nickfarinacci) ; You can see the reviews I have received from clients I worked with and may have some other projects on their that I don't have on my personal website. And on another note, I am in the beginning stages of creating a Design Agency with a very talented fellow creative/illustrator. Our Upwork Agency Profile Link you can look at here: https://www.upwork.com/agencies/~01d4caa190457b15e1 Co-Founders: Myself and Michael White ( https://www.mmarlinwhite.com/ ). We are in the process of developing our company website and should have it running soon enough. Thanks. Ciao! |
